the air ...
We are somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean, under We pull over fleecy clouds, the evening meal (we pulled the chicken from the salmon ...) was good, drinkable wine, the whining of a child somewhere in front of us we are to set up the headphones a soothing end. Mild fatigue sets in, it's also home for 22 clock, the wine with his own help and last but not least, we have a strict week behind us.
On the one hand were the many invitations. We ate and ate told and told, put two to three kilos and said goodbye to and from family, relatives and friends. It's nice to have so many people that are important and which one wants to say goodbye personally and can! And still underestimated, we should all "invitation Marathon not. We have not really thought it would be so strict, always so fine to eat, while so often tell the same thing should / must.
And somewhere in between we had to take whatever happened in travel arrangements. Apartment clean rooms, to pack. I studied a long time with the first two things. Yesterday it happened: I was interpretive, and finally had weighed on the (I think) "necessities of life" together. It is Sunday evening and I very much want to pack everything, the store (ie house) to shut down and go to Adi. I'll get the two duffle bags, I've borrowed from my parents, and prune out: were always so small? I plan Adis big red duffel bag eyes, see inside with what I have before me and I misgives. Nevertheless, I start packing. But soon I realize that this is so pointless. After three times repackaging patient did not help, I try it with brute force. Unsuccessful! Because I know that a third cargo bag useless expensive is (almost 200 francs!), I have no choice than to be grateful that we fly only on Monday afternoon and I therefore time left to raise a large duffel bag or suitcase (or buy ). I find myself from it and enjoy the last evening at home. We go to Frederick to be spoiled with home-baked cheesecake and drink a night cap. And, how does the chance, Fred still has a large suitcase on the way! The repackaging is done quickly, and the straps but that is for the long side, I bring only the face (and hand baggage is definitely another 4 - 5 kg too heavy ...). Not so bad, it's all stored somewhere, and at half past ten this morning we are accompanied by our parents to the airport. We eat for some time together the last time, tell us the latest news in an attempt to slow the rise of nervousness now but a trick to beat. The departure is near. Thank you for having come along and support us completely! When we see
Boarding with mild discomfort the mini hand luggage of other tourists. We cheat like mad, running around at least 25 ° Celsius with down jacket and fleece, grab all the pants and jacket pockets full and it can not help feeling that we see through the watchful eyes of the ground staff. A little more coolness would not hurt, but we have now five months time to practice ... and how could it be otherwise: Everything was shaking for nothing, they took us and the few kilos too much (I speak from hand luggage brought ;-) the aircraft is not crash.
We will soon reach Newfoundland, the small screen on the back of the front seat still reports almost 2,000 km to Montreal. Finally we go. Let's go!

Vga Cable In Edmonton
packing to be learned!
In anticipation of all: to go away so long has its drawbacks. So, in conclusion I count all the administrative stuff, such as insurance, housing rent, mail redirect, passing the job to the deputy and travel details to clarify. For example, I have just been clarified once again, it looks like with our baggage. The thing that is has a catch: while we check in with British Airways to Montreal twice per person per 32 kg and luggage each piece of hand luggage with 6 kg can take the plane are the Innlandflug to Quebec with the Air Canada allows only two 23 kg cargo luggage per person. But one can two pieces of luggage of 10 kg with them as hand luggage (with the one 55 x 30 x 23 cm, the other only 43 x 33 x 16 cm can measure ...!). How farsighted of the men and women of the airlines that adopt such provisions. How customers are not sure how to prepare for your trip boring. I'm looking forward to the entertaining and relaxing hours, Adi and I and our scale in the middle of duffle bags, backpacks, clothes and other material will be spending together. Since the not two airlines are working together, we must check in Montéal luggage. The art should now be to pack all the material so that we can do in Montreal with a handle made of too much cargo luggage Cabin baggage allowance. Maybe I should get in touch with David Copperfield Contact .... Somehow reminds me of the whole scenario to one of the tricky Mathiaufgaben where I always outcrop teeth. And I was (of course, contrary to the opinion of the teacher) adamant that I would never do such a thing in life .... (Which proves once again that teachers almost always right ;-))

Three more weeks and a review
The preparations for our Canadian adventure in full swing. In exactly three weeks, we sit on the plane!

We started as many as possible information for the Blockhüttenbau in the form of witness reports, building instructions or collect slide shows. We knew that it would not be easy to find a piece of land on which we could build our cabin. But chance would have it, Koni Heiniger, a teacher colleague of Adi, good friends in Quebec. Now our project has been slow and specifically with the input and approval of the request for leave of our principals was a first big step forward. The second consisted of a two-week trip to Canada last fall. We were thrilled! A beautiful country with varied scenery, very friendly and helpful people and an Indian Summer, the beautiful would not have been.
A third important step was the participation in Ralphs log building course in southern Germany. As teachers, we were the exotics among the remaining 14 participants, all carpenters, joiners or fitter were. The five-day course was simply awesome, but let us also imagine how hard that is to be physically work that awaits us in Canada. (With regular changing hands each night we tried to conceal the trembling of the coffee mug.) By Armin and Thomas, we had two types in our super-module. They left by our initial tardiness and awkwardness do not bring calm and helped us with their patience and their tips as always. And now comes the kicker: Both Armin and Thomas come to visit us in Canada and help us each about two weeks during construction. And even though independent Armin Zimmermann and early June, his last season and Thomas holiday sacrifice for this year must! Because someone will say that the Germans were not spontaneous!
